Royal Enfield has updated its Bullet 500 and 350 Electra in terms of safety; with a rear disc brake. While both models sported front disc brake, the Bullet had a drum brake set up at the rear.
Apart from these mechanical additions, no other mechanical changes have been made. This feature on the Bullet series with rear disc brake is a much needed safety feature. Following this inclusion, prices have been hiked.
Following the dual disc brake set up, the standard Bullet with rear disc brake is now priced at Rs.1.28 lakhs while the Bullet 350 ES is priced at Rs.1.32 lakhs and Bullet 500 carries a price tag of Rs.1.73 lakhs. All prices are ex-showroom.
Royal Enfield Bullet 350 (ES-Electric Start) is also called Bullet Electra 350. It comes in with a tag line ‘Made Like a Gun, Goes Like a Bullet’ and is positioned between the Bullet 350 and Classic 350. Watch the walkaround video below.
Royal Enfield Bullet 350 ES is powered by a 346cc, single cylinder, air cooled, 4 stroke, Twin spark engine offering 19.9 bhp power at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm mated to a 5 speed constant mesh transmission. This engine allows for a top speed of 100 kmph and fuel efficiency of 30 kmpl in city limits and 40 kmpl on the highway.
Suspension is via telescopic forks in the front and twin gas charged shock absorbers at the rear. With new safety regulations coming into effect from April 2019, it will also soon get updated with Anti Lock Braking System (ABS).
