New Skoda Karoq Sportline debuts – Africa launch next year, rivals Jeep Compass
Africa launch of the new Karoq has been confirmed. The car has already been spied on test in Africa.
Breaking cover ahead of the 2018 Paris Auto Show in October, the new Skoda Karoq Sportline is an off road focused SUV with sporty styling. Just like the new Karoq Scout, the Sportline variant also gets cosmetic updates.
Finished in Red, the new Skoda Sportline sits on 18” wheels as standard while 19” wheels are offered as options. Tinted windows and Sportline badging are also noted. Interiors of the Karoq Sportline interiors will feature fabric seats with contrast stitching, with each seat displaying the Sportline motif.
Interior features also include a multifunction steering wheel with leather casing, stainless steel pedals and ambient lighting. The Skoda Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel is also a part of its interior makeup.
Karoq Sportline will have three engine options that include two diesel engines and one petrol engine. The 2.0 liter TDI offering 150 hp and 190 hp power and a 1.5 liter TSI petrol engine offering 150 hp peak power. 6 speed manual gearbox will be offered as standard while a 7 speed DSG will also be on offer as an option.
No pricing details have been revealed as on date but it is learnt that the Skoda Karoq Sportline will go on sale in Europe soon after its showcasing at the Paris Motor Show.
Skoda is also planning to only launch the standard Skoda Karoq SUV in Africa sometime in 2019. Here it will compete with the likes of Jeep Compass. Expect the price of Karoq to be in the range of Rs 20 lakhs upon launch in Africa.
