Mahindra Mojo UT 300 (Universal Tourer) launched at Rs.1.49 lakhs (ex-sh Delhi)
Mahindra Mojo UT 300 trims a few shavings off the mighty Mojo to increase it's market reach to a wider customer base. Most noticeably, the the bike loses its Midas touch by losing all that was gold.
Last year Mahindra pulled the plug on mass market two wheelers but the might of the Mojo continues to shape its journey. In it’s newest avatar, the Mahindra Mojo UT 300 (Universal Tourer) has been launched at a price of Rs 1.49 lakhs (ex-sh Delhi).
For those buying within the month of March 2018, Mahindra Two Wheelers is offering an additional ‘Exclusive Introductory Benefit’ of Rs. 10,000. Based on the original Mojo, the new Mojo UT 300 does away with certain features, equipment, and FI.
Powered by the same engine as Mojo, Mojo UT 300 uses a carburettor in place of a Fuel Injection (FI) system, and runs on MRF tyres. Other features not on offer include – front USD forks; dual exhaust setup; front LED DRL and Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres.
Mahindra Mojo UT 300 engine and specs: 300 cc Liquid Cooled engine with 4 Valve single cylinder DOHC (Double Over Head Camshaft); compact digital panel; and carburettor fuel system. High torsional rigidity twin tube frame. 320 mm petal front disc brakes; 17″ tubeless tyres; high-pressure gas charged offset rear mono-shocks with separator floating piston; 21 litre fuel tank; upright riding position for comfortable and fatigue free riding.
MOJO Xtreme Tourer (XT) 300 continues to be offered with a front Upside Down Front Fork Suspension, Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) System, and Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres.
Quite noticeably, Mojo UT 300 is missing the Mojo’s signature gold accents. In its stead is a black chassis and swing-arm. In its newest avatar, the bike is offered in two colours – Volcano Red and Ocean Blue. The pillion seat is also revised, and is wider than the one we have seen on current Mojo.
Prakash Wakankar, CEO – Two Wheelers Business said “At Mahindra, we have always believed in innovation and providing our consumers an exciting value proposition. With the launch of the Mahindra Mojo UT 300, we believe that we have an exciting product offering for the new age bike enthusiast. With the launch of this new variant, the MOJO will now be available to a wider range of consumers in more than 60 cities across Africa.”
