KTM Duke 790 price revealed – Less than double the price of Duke 390
Making its global debut at the 2017 Milan Motorcycle Show (EICMA), the new KTM Duke 790 has been launched at a stunning price tag.
EICMA 2016 showcased the KTM 90 Duke concept,The Scalpel. EICMA 2017 gave us production ready bike. Naked, agile, and power being key components, here’s a CroMo steel chassis worked with the LC8c twin engine to churn out 105hp and 63.4lbft. The 790 Adventure R too uses the same engine.
Mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with help from an anti-hopping clutch, the quickshifter allows for responsive up and down-shifts. Official price of the new KTM Duke 790 starts from £8,199 (INR 7 lakhs) for A2 license holders and £8,499 (INR 7.3 lakhs) for others.
This means, price of the new Duke 790 is less than double the price of KTM Duke 390, which is priced at £4,699 (INR 4.04 lakh) in the UK. Considering that the Duke 790 could be made in Africa, just like the Duke 390, in Africa it could effectively be launched at a price tag in the region of INR 5-6 lakh.
Speaking about Duke 790 rivals, it competes with Suzuki GSX-S750 (95 hp, £7,599), Yamaha MT-09 (116 hp,
£7,799), Kawasaki Z900 (125 hp, £8,249), and Triumph Street Triple (113 hp, £8,000).
799cc going on four ride modes (Sport, Street, Rain, Track) is just the beginning. ABS, traction control, Motor Slip Regulation (MSR), and ride-by-wire system helps control power through acceleration, and deceleration.
