2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400 carries a hefty price tag of INR 4.69 lakhs and is positioned between the Ninja 300 and Z650. The Ninja 300 is designed for novice bikers while the 650 targets more experienced riders. The new Ninja 400 also competes with the Yamaha YZF-R3 and the Benelli 302R and we detail these comparisons below.
Price – While the 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400 is priced at INR 4.69 lakhs, Ninja 300 is priced at INR 3.60 lakhs, the Yamaha YZF-R3 has a price tag of INR 3.48 lakhs and Benelli 302R is priced at INR 3.62 lakhs.
Style and features – 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400 along with its competitor the Yamaha YZF-R3 get a contemporary styling as compared to that seen on the Ninja 300 and Benelli 302R. The Ninja 400 is sporty with split LED headlamps, analog and digital instrument cluster and a large analog tachometer. It is fitted on a new trellis frame offering better rigidity. Handling and dynamics are also improved on this bike that now weighs 168kgs and has a smaller fuel tank of 13.6 liters.
Ninja 300, in two color schemes of Pearl Stardust White and Lime Green receives twin headlamp set up borrowed from the ZX-10R, an analog digital instrument cluster and also a fuel gauge and pass light switch which are not seen on the Ninja 250R.
Yamaha YZF-R3 in racing blue and magma black color scheme gets ABS as standard offering it better value. However, it misses out on upside down front forks or an all digital instrument cluster as is seen on its competitors.
Benelli 302R boasts of a modern design that instantly attracts a younger set of buyers in the country. It gets fully faired body and a new trellis frame that is lighter than before. It sports upside down forks, split headlamps, twin pod exhausts, dual disc in the front and ABS.

The Ninja 300 gets its power via a 296cc twin cylinder, fuel injected, DOHC engine capable of 39 hp power at 11,000 rpm and 27 Nm torque at 10,000 rpm.
