Fiat Punto Abarth and Avventura T-Jet continue testing in Pune
and variants have been spotted in Pune by our avid reader Prathik Shetty. While Punto clearly has all the bearings of Abarth branding like sporty alloy wheels, decals on the lower part of the door and T-Jet badge, Avventura test mule is devoid of any noticeable visual changes compared to the regular variant.
Interior of Punto Abarth is finished in full black color theme where as Avventura T-Jet receives dual-tone dashboard with grey Alcantara inserts. Dual-tone brown and beige seat covers were reported to carry Avventure logo. Save for the aforementioned visual features, both cars are identical to their respective regular variants.
Under the hoods is the 1.4-litre T-Jet turbocharged petrol engine which is reported to be pumped up to around 135 PS to justify the scorpion badge. The duo continues to employ 5-speed manual transmissions.
The Punto Abarth and Avventura T-Jet underscore Fiat Africa’s strategy of targeting auto enthusiasts. Combining a powerful turbo petrol motor to an already proven ride and handling package seems like just what car lovers would want.
Given the cars appear to be production ready, market introduction is likely to happen in festive season (September to November, 2015).
