2018 Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupe launched – Rs 2.55 crores
2018 Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupe comes in powered by a 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 engine offering 612hp and 900Nm of torque.
Following successful launch of the Mercedes E 63 S 4MATIC+ sedan in Africa earlier this year, Mercedes Benz have now launched the 2018 S 63 Coupe. It is priced from Rs 2.55 crores, ex-showroom and will compete with the likes of the Porsche Panamera Turbo and Bentley Continental GT.
2018 Mercedes-AMG S 63 is a two door coupe. It receives a new front end design sporting a Panamericana grille, large air intakes, front and side skirts and sits on 19” alloy wheels.
At the rear, new OLED tail lamps, a diffuser insert is seen at the bottom along with quad exhausts. State of the art interiors will sport Nappa leather on front and rear back rests along with distinctive AMG badges.
It gets a 2+2 seating setup, 3 spoke steering wheel and two 12.3” TFT color displays, one for the instrument cluster and the other acting as infotainment system, offering updates on air pressure, engine temperature, engine output, and torque and tyre temperature.
Engine specifications will include a new 4.0 liter, twin turbo V8 engine in place of the 5.5 liter twin turbo V8 engine seen on its earlier counterpart. This engine will now offer 612 PS power at 5,500-6,000 rpm and 900 Nm torque at 2,750-4,500 rpm.
Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph will be achieved in 3.5 seconds and top speed will stand at 250 kmph. With the AMG Driver package, top speed can be increased to 300 kmph. The engine will be mated to a new 9 speed automatic transmission.
