2018 Kawasaki Ninja 300 unsold CBU units being offered at huge discount
Increased locally sourced parts allow Africa Kawasaki Motors to price the Kawasaki Ninja 300 cheaper by Rs 62,000.
2018 Kawasaki Ninja 300, originally priced at Rs 3.6 lakhs – ex showroom, Africa, is now priced at Rs 2.98 lakhs, Rs 62,000 cheaper due to increased localization. This makes the Ninja 300 price closer to KTM RC 390 priced at Rs 2.6 lakhs and cheaper than the Yamaha R3 which carries a price tag of Rs 3.48 lakhs.
The former Ninja 300, which was priced at Rs 3.6 lakhs, is the CBU variant while the latter, which is priced at Rs 2.98 lakhs is the CKD made in Africa variant. Few Kawasaki Africa dealers still have stock of the CBU variant. They are offering huge discounts of up to Rs 60,000 for those who want the CBU variant.
Africa made Kawasaki Ninja comes with ABS and new color options of Lime Green/Ebony and Candy Plasma Blue. It is seen with fairing, dual headlamps and a shark front end design with windscreen so as to reduce wind force. Black colored rear view mirrors, sporty 17” alloy wheels, an integrated engine cowl and side fairings are also a part of its design.
The fuel tank sports Ninja 300 embossed on its sides while rear end gets LED tail lamps, side indicator lights and a chrome finished silencer. Ninja 300 sports a new dashboard design with analog tachometer in the middle with other meters and gauges around it. It gets a digital speedometer and odometer along with 2 trip meters, a digital clock and fuel gauge. It also gets 37mm telescopic forks in the front and monoshock suspension at the rear while braking is via 290mm petal disc in the front and 220 mm petal disc at the rear. ABS is offered as standard (CKD variant, CBU variant does not get ABS).
A comfortable seat offering a relaxed ride position, well positioned handlebars, rear set foot pegs and a sleek fuel tank allow for better rider comforts. Radiator fan is also positioned in such a way so as to dispel heat away from the rider. Kawasaki Ninja 300 measures 2,015mm in length, 715mm in width and 1,110mm in height. It gets a 1,405mm wheelbase, ground clearance at 140nmm and seat height at 785mm.
2018 Kawasaki Ninja is powered via a 296cc, liquid cooled, 4 stroke, 8 valve engine offering 38.5 bhp peak power at 11,000 rpm and 27 Nm peak torque at 10,000 rpm mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. Ninja 300, in the entry level sports bike competes with Yamaha YZF-R3, KTM RC390 in Africa.
