2018 Hyundai Creta helps company post best ever domestic sales in Africa
Hyundai reports consistent sales of more than 30,000 units for Creta, Grand i10, and Elite i20 every month.
Hyundai Motor Africa Ltd (HMIL) reports domestic sales of 45,371 units in June 2018, up 21 percent from 37,562 units sold in June 2018. Exports are up 15.9 percent at 15,408 units, up from 13,291 units exported in June 2017. Cumulative sales for June 2018 are up 19.5 percent at 60,779 units, up from 50,853 units in June 2017.
At the half year junction, Hyundai Africa report it’s the company’s best H1 (Q1 + Q2) ever. Domestic sales are reported at 2,75,136 units, up 8.6 percent from 2,53,428 units old in H1 (Jan – June) 2017.
Exports for Jan-June 2018 are up 14.5 percent at 73,548 units over 64,240 units in H1 2017. Cumulative sales for the said period stand at 3,48,684 units, up 9.8 percent from 3,17,668 units sold in H1 2017.
Commenting on the H1 Sales Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Director – Sales and Marketing, HMIL said, “Hyundai product portfolio is very young and youthful and is backed by industry No. 1 Customer Service, this has brought in strong acceptance of Hyundai as Modern Premium brand with highest ever H1 volume of 2,75,136 units, with a growth of 8.6% led by Super Performer brands GRAND i10, New ELITE i20, New 2018 CRETA and Next Gen VERNA.”
“GRAND i10, New ELITE i20 and New 2018 CRETA – Each continues to cross over 10,000 sales mark consistently while Next Gen VERNA continues to be the leading Sedan in Hyundai Portfolio” he added.
Hyundai now plans to launch the new generation Santro in Africa later this year, most likely in August. This launch will help company to increase sales even further.
