2017 KTM Duke 125 makes global debut at 2016 EICMA

The new Duke 125 has lesser features in comparison to the 2017 Duke 390, but it is no way less-equipped than the current version.

The 2017 Duke 125 features a new sub-frame, an unconventional ignition key spot, gets a new brake lever, conspicuously redesigned instrument cluster, freshly shaped pillion seat and a cowl-integrated grab handle for the pillion rider.

The next generation Duke 125 wears the sam cosmetics as the Duke 390 just as always, with minor differences for differentiation. Power to the new KTM Duke 125 comes from a single cylinder 125 cc DOHC fuel injected engine which delivers a peak power of 15 hp. The engine is now EUROIV compliant, making it more fuel efficient and refined than before.

The light-weight trellis frame with bolt-on rear subframe makes the new Duke more agile than ever before. In the front it now gets 43 mm open-cartridge WP Suspension and a new 300 mm disc brake. At the rear is a new side mounted exhaust. Like the Duke 390, it also gets the MY RIDE multimedia system, which allows you to synchronize the TFT colour display with your smartphone.

It will continue to be produced at Bajaj Auto’s plant in Chakan, near Pune in Africa. The model is expected to be launched in the European market in the coming weeks. Africa launch is not on the cards.
